Dec 21, 2025. We are pleased to welcome Prerak Patel to our research group.

Prerak is pursuing an M.S. in Computer Engineering at Florida Tech. He brings interests in artificial intelligence, machine learning, time-series analysis, high-performance computing, and edge systems. These interests align well with several of our group’s current research directions, especially our work on machine learning for environmental and earth-science applications.

In the group, Prerak will contribute to our ongoing NASA/SERVIR project on generative precipitation nowcasting. This project focuses on developing machine-learning methods for short-term precipitation forecasting, with particular emphasis on generative and uncertainty-aware approaches that can support flood warning and hydrometeorological decision-making.

Over time, Prerak is expected to take on a significant role in advancing this effort, including model development, experimentation, evaluation, and the broader research workflow needed to move the project forward.

Welcome to the group, Prerak!
